Coach Cota enters his 8th year as the Vaquero Head Coach. Beyond baseball, he also serves as a special education teacher, department chair, and co-athletic director at Irvine High School. Proudly, he's an alumnus of Irvine High and played baseball at Orange Coast College before heading to UC Santa Barbara. Off the field, Coach Cota enjoys spending quality time with his family: wife Maria, daughter Daisy, and son Ezra. This season, his focus is on supporting the seniors as they showcase their skills and have a rewarding year.

Coach Tyro returns to the varsity team this season after previously heading the Freshman team. An Irvine High alumnus and current instructional assistant, he's dedicated to both academics and athletics. Outside of coaching, he enjoys sports and spending time with friends and family. He's excited to help the players build on their hard work and achieve a successful season.

Coach Cusey joins the program this year as Pitching Coach, bringing 35 years of experience. Coach Cusey excelled on the diamond at Leffingwell Christian High School in Norwalk, CA, before taking his talents to Concordia University Irvine. When he's not guiding our pitchers to success, Coach Cusey loves cooking for his wife and family. Few may know that he's also a creative force off the field, having authored several patents related to biometric and biomechanical sensors. This season, Coach Cusey is focused on team success, and we're excited to have him on board!

Coach DJ brings his expertise to the Irvine Baseball program as Hitting Coordinator. A Bishop Amat High School graduate, Coach DJ's favorite sports memory is playing in Spring Training in Mexico. His collegiate baseball career took him to Oregon State, Cypress College, Mt. SAC, and Lynn University. When he's not perfecting the swing, Coach DJ enjoys cooking up a storm and binge-watching his favorite TV shows. Few may know that he's a culinary mastermind, having worked as a chef in a fine dining restaurant. This season, Coach DJ is focused on elevating the hitting game for Irvine and leading the team to a division title

Irvine High alum and current counselor, Coach Cota, continues his role as an assistant varsity coach. He is a recent newlywed and enjoys spending time with his wife Morgan. This season, his sights are set on a league title and making a playoff run.

Coach Boomer returns for his third season as the JV coach at Irvine High. A proud alumnus and UC Riverside graduate, he's now pursuing his master's at UC Irvine. This season, Coach Boomer aims to build on prior experience, leading the team to a winning season and instilling a strong passion for the game in his players.

Coach Llamas takes the reins as Freshman Head Coach. A Tustin High School alumnus, Coach Llamas cherishes the memory of catching a no-hitter during his high school days. After attending Orange Coast College, he's now dedicated to shaping the next generation of players. Off the field, Coach Llamas loves making magical memories with his partner Danielle and their two-year-old son Elias at Disneyland. Few may know that Coach Llamas is equally passionate about soccer as he is about baseball. This season, he's committed to developing his players' skills, emphasizing sportsmanship, and guiding them toward a successful season.
